Asphalt Single Roof Maintenance

shadow

No matter the type or age of the roof, all roofs need annual maintenance to reach or exceed their life expectancy. Asphalt shingles roofs have an approximate expected life span of 20 to 25 years, but many of the components associated with the roof do not have such a long-life span. All roof penetrations such as skylights, chimneys, plumbing stacks, and vents will also require on-going maintenance. Keeping the roof clean is also extremely important. Moss, leaves, pine needles on the roof will keep the shingles wet and will deteriorate the roof faster. This is a do-it-yourself video, but if your roof has a dangerous pitch or made of a material that should not be walked on, like concrete tiles, or wood shingles, please consider hiring the service of a professional roofing company.

It is not uncommon to have shingles ripped off the roof during bad weather, as well as, metal chimney caps, and flashings. In this video we will show you how important it is to do simple roof maintenance, what to look for and how to repair.
